But I keep getting advertisements pop up and sometimes it will close out of the internet. This has been happening for about 4 days! I don't know what it could be. Maybe games my kids download without permission?

The Google toolbar in my Firefox has recently installed itself without mine or anyone else's consent, and every time I try to uninstall it, it re-installs itself (again, without my consent).
Unless I'm mistaken, Google takes information from your computer through these and that requires the user's consent, does it not? Isn't this illegal?

I am running (unfortunately) Windows Vista on my new laptop and *purposely* have my firewall turned "off". However, every time I boot the machine up, this little annoying-as-hell alert comes up in the right side of the taskbar...as if I didn't KNOW my firewall was turned off and it says "Please check your security settings" or something towards that line. How do I turn this off so that when I boot the machine up it doesn't do this?

I have Dr. Antispy on my computer and cannot get it off. I have tried literally everything and cannot get it off my screen.
I bought this computer in 2004 for about $400 bucks and now this stupid Dr. Antispy is the first thing I see when I flick it on.
I thought it was legitimate, but found out its a virus. Any ideas? Should I just get a new computer or take this one to town and have a geek spend time trying to get rid of it?
I have gone thru my stuff and tried to erase it, but it is stuck on the screen and keeps running this green bar. I suppose it is trying to figure out how to hack into my financial info.
How much precautions should I take. Is this thing going to start helping someone take money from my bank accounts and credit cards? Help!!! I am about ready to close my accounts. I am worried.

This has been going on for months. I have Windows XP, PC-Cillin anti-virus (it is very good, but apparently not good enough). Whenever I do a virus scan, the CD-ROM drive will quite for awhile. The PC-Cillin says that cookie 3130 comes from a website www.Yimg.com (which I have never visited) and is often accompanied by cookie 1830, which PC-Cillin says comes from www.mediaplex.com, a site which I never visit. Apparently, Yahoo, Google, or Discovercard or credit unions are connected with these sites. Does any one know how to stop these cookies? I would like to have control of my computer!
Thanks!
