First of all you will have to disable system restore because one or two of the files will be infected by the virus. AVG will delete these files in about 1 week by its self, but usually the virus infects other ones during this time. The only solution for this will be to delete your whole system restore folder. So check out this for help on how to disable system restore: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310405 (I recommend you try method one because it does it for you automatically!)
After this restart your computer into safe mode and do a scan again and move all the infected files to the virus vault and whip them. Now your computer should be clean with no more viruses. At this point turn on system restore again and do another scan just to be sure!

Malware may still be lurking in your system restore volumes so it would be in your best interests to disable system restore, reboot then re-enable system restore when you log back on. What this does is protects you from reloading the malware should you ever need to do a system restore.
Many anti-virus products cannot remove viruses from system restore thus the reason for clearing out possible infected points. For reference to this, see the link below:
Problems with System Restore
There are some problems associated with System Restore when it comes to viruses. When restore points are created they are stored in a directory that is accessible only to the System account and not to a user. This keeps the restore points safe from misuse and tampering. Unfortunately this also means that any virus scan software you may have installed can not scan the files located there as well. This causes a problem if a file that is infected with a virus gets backed up into a restore point because now the anti-virus software can not clean it. Now if you ever restore from a restore point, that file that is infected will be introduced back into your system.

==========
Edit - To disable System Restore go to Control Panel, System, System Restore tab, tickmark the box beside "Turn off system rstore on all drives" , click Apply, click OK then reboot your computer. When you log back in, repeat the steps and remove the tickmark, click Apply, click OK. What this does is sets a new System Restore point. Then run another AVG scan to see if the virus is still being picked up.

1. The virus is in the virus vault, it can't do any harm in there.
2. Disable system restore.
3. Reboot.
4. Reboot again into Safe Mode.
5. Scan with AVG and any anti spyware programs.
6. Reboot.

Using system restore will only restore the file back on the system, do another scan, after the scan, look in the vault it should be there, what I do is right click the file and choose delete, you could if you want just leave it in the virus vault, and keep the thing locked up.

What is the name of the main executable file? Use Task Manager to find the process. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and click on the Processes tab. Scroll down and look for a process that does not have SYSTEM, NETWORK or LOCAL next to it. Do a Google search on all the other processes until you find the one that is the trojan process. e.g. abc123.exe.
When you have discovered the trojan executable name then boot into safe mode and then delete the abc123.exe file.

Maybe the problem is more elementary than you think.
AVG has not managed this situation very well, so I suggest that you instead use TREND-MICRO instead. This product can be used to detect and destroy evething evil on your computer.
Good idea using 'safe mode'. You may have the scan in that mode for the full detection. This AV product may be able to do more for you.
If the problem persists, you may have to use 'Hijack This!' -- A very powerful diagnostic tool to remove the infection.
