No. It may coe with a trial. But nothing from the Windows system. The only protection you start with is the firewall. And that is not too good either.
You would have to think bout buying some protection. Which is VERY imortant; also, you have to use anti-spyware protection, which is not covered by many AV products. Use the below:

xp doesn't actually have its own anti virus but it has a pretty good firewall however it is best to install an anti virus program like avg go to grisoft.com

No, it has a firewall but you do need a separate Anti Virus.
My personal recommendation would be to download AVG Free - it's never let me down in nearly three years.

No they only come with windows firewall and Maybe an antivirus for a trial period. After that you need to subscribe to Antivirus protection.

Stay away from the AVG. I can't think of one worse than that. Get the silver shield from yahoo. If you have a yahoo account just click on downloads to find it. It's actually McAfee.

there is windows defender, free from the microsoft site. but as every one else says download AVG and spy-bot search and destroy, both are free. i have used them for years with no probs. just google them and you will find. good luck. lol
