A malware threat is a threat from any type software designed to damage your computer, or steal information. Spyware... adware... worms... trojans... and viruses. Spyware and such can monitor what you are doing online and viruses... well, I'm sure you know what they do. Stop it by getting a competent firewall, anti-virus, and anti-spyware program. DON'T just rely on Windows Firewall either.
You can get a lot of free programs like that too. Ad-aware (not adware) is a great anti-spy, Avira AntiVir or Avast! are competent anti-virus... and Zonealarm makes a good firewall.

Malware is a type of spying that companies do on people, such as sending bad cookies to report what you do.
You need a really good antivirus software to clean it out, as well as viruses, trojans, etc.
