Security - May 2007

Hi to everybody out there who is reading this "Question", and thinking what the fu@@ is this guy on about, well, all in good time, this is a question for those of you who respect yahoo answers.
WINUPD32.EXE IS THE NAME OF THE VIRUS THAT DEMOLISHED MY PC, MY PC WAS INFECTED WITHIN 1 HOUR WITH 300 UNDELETABLE VIRUSES, I BOUGHT NORTON PRO, TRIED TRENDMICRO, PANDA ANTIVIRUS, SYMANTEC SPYWARE REMOVAL, SSS, AVG, EVERYTHING YOU NAME IT, 80 HOURS OF LABOUR, BUT I DIDNT KNOW THAT IT HACKED INTO MY EBAY ACCOUNT AND STOLE MY PASSWORD, CREDIT CARD NAME, NATIONAL INSURANCE NO., YOU NAME IT THE LOT, EMAILS, EVERYTHING
It was fraud, so, if you get this virus please do not make the same mistake i did , just turn your pc off, disconnect the internet from it, delete all your files, give it to a company to be fixed, this is not something which you can fix your self, please do not do what i did, now, will yahoo answers get really pis@@@@ off because this was like a warning and not a question?, (ignore)!

about a trojan virus, spyware, and other worms and viruses. I get several pop up screens and windows that say all kinds of warnings, and direct me to several websites to pay $49.99 to cleanout my system.
Anyone know what this is, and If I can get rid of it on my own, thank you.

I recently responded to an email (reply all) that listed 4 friends as recipients. I then received a delivery notification that my response could not be delivered to a fifth address which I do not recognize. Is there someone monitoring my email or does anyone know the cause of this?

I have a lot of problems with speed and pop-ups and I have ran scans and found spyware. I tried to use the Microsoft drive cleaner and it wouldn't even work and I am unable to reach support/help.

I have tried several different anti virus programs. They seem to slow down the computer, cause conflicts with software. And in the end do not protect. I was running a major one and then checked with an online scanner and my computer was still infected. I am sure that there are virus programs that will destroy hard drives and raise havoc. Can't we protect the computer from the real bad stuff without having to load these huge and ineffective anti virus programs. Or should I just forget about it and switch to Linux. Help!

Hello, on my home computer I am experiencing a few wierd symptoms. I cannot connect to yahoo messenger, or any kind of patch server, for my antivirus or my online games ect, none of those will connect. I have done so much as to open my computer up as DMZ to try to avoid any kind of firewall/router problem but still nothing. Im sure its a virus or something blocking this transfer, but again im a newb, so my question is this

is it a virus? or anything you have heard of before?

I like having my Skype chat on for people I know but I keep getting interrupted by unknown people wanting to talk with me about their manufacturing business in China and rubbish like that. It's telemarketing but with computers. Can I do something to block these random unknowns?

I get 500 emails a day I was naive to how many bad people are lurking out there. I like to shop on line and never had trouble, unfortunately I am always in a crunch for cash I did not even know on-line payday loans existed. They have crooks behind them, I did one loan and was barraged with offers up to 500 emails. Then I got a fake check for 5,000 from a Canadian lottery? I did not dare cash that check but I was unable to keep up with the crooks. I had a fake check go through my bank account and everything bounced but I was on it like a hot potato. My life is hectic right now my mom has cancer and it has been rough. I am not very organized any ways. At least my bank was awesome about it they gave me all my money back. It is a pain to have to change my account with one provider I do not now how to close the old ones. Before I even had the fraud I requested to be removed from the mailing lists....unless thats how they got me.

I don't care about the price. I want to block porn from the kids. The internet explorer options with filtering it out isn't doing it's job, no nearly. I want to know the best program that will keep kids from seeing a boob in yahoo search, or even bad language. Absolutely no porn. Any suggestions on some software?? Also, what are some good monitoring programs, I heard of one a while back but forgot the name, it emails the parent what the kid is doing on line, logs everything the kid types, etc.

I have already tried uninstall from Control Panal and Norton's uninstall disc. It is very pernicious and embedded. I don't want to have to back up all my files and wipe my drive clean and re-install everything, but I'm getting desperate. Help!

alright i was just using mozzila firefox and it said error and shut down my page it was alright with me at first but now its doing it every 5min. i did a virus scan and it said the computers fine but on norton it says somethings really wrong but its been saying that ever since my subscription ended. I do not want anyone on my computer while I am away and so I was wondering if there is a way to prevent my room mate from accessing my computer while I'm not there. I put a password on the accounts on the computer but I feel he might try something drastic, like rebooting the computer. Help? Thanks.
