I don't care about the price. I want to block porn from the kids. The internet explorer options with filtering it out isn't doing it's job, no nearly. I want to know the best program that will keep kids from seeing a boob in yahoo search, or even bad language. Absolutely no porn. Any suggestions on some software?? Also, what are some good monitoring programs, I heard of one a while back but forgot the name, it emails the parent what the kid is doing on line, logs everything the kid types, etc.
Thanks!

You may want to invest in an internet filter. This will allow certain privileges to each user you can modify the settings and chose which categories you would like restricted. So, its especially effective in blocking out adult content for your children. Also, you can monitor your kids net surfing activity from your office computer. If they are attempt to leave you restriction zone. You can easily terminate access of the internet from your office or anywhere. The best one out there is called Child Safe by Webroot. Hope this helps!

Though this would have to be on a separate machine (Linux or the like which could also do logging of every internet access and provide a good firewall).

With an old PC this could be a no-cost solution and very secure.

K9 as suggested already is another option. I can't seem to recall whether there is another open source filtering program for windows.

the reason a kin freaks out is via the image they have been fed by human beings like your conservative pastor. Ever pay attention of self-relaxing prophesy? Porn, for my area, isn't undesirable in and of itself. employing it as a masturbatory help is incredibly elementary, and that i will assure you that all and sundry has achieved it a minimum of as quickly as. even however, because of the fact porn is so heavily tied to intercourse this is troubling. intercourse is great, even however that's a extremely common instinct and for this reason may be not elementary to regulate and understand. Moderation can convey approximately a chuffed and organic life, yet like the rest too plenty is a foul element (is that not what "too plenty" means?). Porn can set unreachable standards on your companion or perhaps your self. it could additionally spur obsessions while you're actually not careful. it could, such as you stated, additionally reason families to freak out. ultimately it boils all the way down to the way you think of approximately and appreciate your companion. Porn isn't a topic in and of itself. fairly that's indicative of an underlying subject of have faith. while you're with somebody and you nevertheless watch a great variety of porn, then meaning you're actually not being very open and ordinary approximately your very own sexuality. Porn is a symptom, not a reason, of broken relationships

Free and fantastic :k9 web protection. My kids hate it ! takes a little time to set it up if you want to alloe some things, or just pick a default. You have to register, no big deal. I've checked it and can't find any spyware in it. Password protected and very easy to override or turn off the block. You can even set times when they can't use the internet at all !

There are plenty of free "keylogger" programs that record every keystroke, but you open yourself up for hacking if you use one of these as they obviously record your typed passwords as well.

edit: Net Nanny I've found to be hopeless.

You could do that, but it may end up blocking useful things as well. I suggest supervising them while they're online.
