Security - May 2007

My sis and bil just got high speed internet and will have a two year old computer. They are a little clueless, like me, about how to protect it. They don't want to spend money if they don't have to, so what sites are good to download firewalls, etc. for free? Or what is the best way to go about this?

System keeps saying" your computer might be in danger! Security software has expired (whatever they're taking about must have been on the system when I purchase it.) Have no knowledge as to what the heck my system is talking about!!

I like to send one single email to 10 different receipents but I don't want them to see each others email address. Does it help if you add all them in ''BCC:'' Somebody told me it will still show in the header details.

I live in NE and a bunch of kids/college students are being sued for using Limewire. Does anyone know anyone that this happened to and should I stop, it's a hefty fine if you are caught, though there are millions of people on this sight downloading free music all the time. Or does anyone have a suggestion on a website that does not charge a dollar a song and is safe???

Im at middle school and all the IT admins can see what i and everyone else is doing on the computers, anyone know how to mask them seeing what i am doing, or just stop it all together, thanks!

I think I have a bunch of it on my computer because it seems to be running slower. I downloaded Spyware Terminator but it doesn't seem to find spyware only tracking cookies. I tried Spyware Doctor you gotta pay for that though unfortuanetly. So just wondering if there were any good FREE ones out there that work well. I'd prefer a free one but I also know possibly the only way to get a good remover is to pay for it so help is appreciated, thanks in advance.
