Depends on what work document you are talking about. "WMP", stand for Windows Media Player.

WMP Info stands for Windows Media Player Information. This is a part of the Windows Media Player programme that allows you to find answers to media questions or downloads. Right click in the player and it will give you a drop down menu. If you do not want to view it just close that window.

If you close it by clicking on the little red x in the top right corner of the WMP info box, you will not damage anything. I expect you accidently opened a WMP file and that is why it came up in your document.

if you mean 'word document' [not work], most likely its an embedded object that carries 'windows media player info', and you will lose that info, i.e., the name of a song, movie, link .... so and so.

wmpinfo.xml is a file for Windows media player, I think it may be held in case you need to roll back to an early version . Please read this article http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/10/readme.aspx

It don't take up much space and can be safely left on your computer.
