I tried IP release/renew under run: cmd on the start menu

I have Windows Mail through Windows Vista. I am unable to send or receive any mail. My sent box shows what I sent but it isn't reaching it's destination. I sent myself a test email and it is sitting in my sent box but I did not get it. A test email I sent myself earlier ended up in my junk box. I have called several techs and they checked my connection and my server and it is not due to those. It is possible that it is my McAfee. Here is the error code I am getting:
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop-server.rochester.rr.com', Server: 'pop-server.rochester.rr.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

What do I need to click on in the configuration to allow my email to work but also let the McAfee continue to do it's job? I am considering uninstalling it because I think it is causing my email not to work.

Okay, I am confused on thsi issue. If on limewire (i haven't downloaded it yet) I set the filters option on, does it make it legal?
It filters copyrighted files.... right?

I've never had any viruses or pop-ups in the 5 months I've had the computer. I have a blocker and Trend PC-cillan. Suddenly, over the past 2 days, I am getting constant pop-ups. PC-cillian detects viruses but i delete them and quarantine them, but it doesn't help. The only sites I frequently visit are Yahoo (mail), Ebay, my WebCT for college and myspace.

What do you guys suggest? (That is free or cheap, if possible!) Thanks!!!!

Firefox keeps giving me the message "onlookupfailure 55 1" and I was told that disabling my McAfee Site Advisor would solve the problem. Probably a stupid question, but how do I disable it? I can't even find it in my McAfee security center...

My Q is...If it is suppose to block "SpyWare"...
Why when I run Spy Bot...Spy Bot finds SpyWare???
The McAfee claims it is in working order?
What is up with this?

I cannot run an antivirus. Norton closes off by itself the minute i start it. I tried installign AVG - it wont let me. I tried running hijckthis - nothing - it just closes off.

i cannot open the command prompt, or task manager, or msconfig. When i used the infected computer to search the net for info about the virus, the browser window closes off. When i tried to access a previous question i had on yahoo answers about this, the browser window closed.

There is a text file under my C drive called "Baca Bro !!!" which says i've been kicked by the amazing Brontok, by JowoBot.

Is there anyway to get rid of this without using any removal tool, as i highly suspect i wont be able to run it. Thanks much.

if u are able to tap into your neighbors wifi and surf on their wifi network. and u log into like your hotmail, bank site, credit card site. can your neighbors find out your username and password? im pretty computer literate...and i dont think they cant. i mean if a neighbor doesnt even know how to set up a secure wifi network..how the hell they gonna hack into my bank account if i use their network?

I ask because I cannot access certain pages on a web site. When I visited on of these pages today, it said that I did not have any access privilege. So, I cleared my cookies, temporary files, and history and I still can't get on. (1) Do you think this is a real IP ban? (2) Do you know of any way of circumventing one from the same IP address (i.e. your home)?
