if you are pretty computer literate then you should already know the answer to your question

Are you sure it is your neighbors Wi-Fi? Or just someones "unsecured" network? Someone unsavory could be using the network also. Some public networks ask that encryption is turned OFF in order to make access easier for the public, but it does not mean you cannot be watched. If you do not know the source of the net and the security used, BE CAREFUL.

Using someone else wifi to access the Internet is a felony in most communities. Plus the neighbor's ISP can sue you for "theft of service". And the neighbor can sue you for hacking into their system. You also give your neighbor access to your computer and all your private information.

Plus when you are using their network, should your neighbor decide to something illegal, such as download child porn, send harrassing e-mails, spam, or (the worst of all computer crimes) download a song for free, they could attempt to defend themselves by blaming YOU for their crime. As you are already a theif and a hacker for being in their network, you could very easily find yourself facing charges for their crimes.

I have worked in the IT business for 15 years and see people get into trouble daily for hacking into someone elses wifi network. Do not do it.

All they need is computer packet sniffing software to read everything your send!

There are some ID felons using this exact method to get information. They intentionally open a wifi router and hope like crazy you are dumb enough to use it. Or like you they find an open one and connect into it with you.

Besides you committing theft they do too. Guess who looses?

Since you are illegally using your neighbor's wifi, why should they not be able to use your bank account? Same thing. One thief stealing from another? Wow, what a concept!

The only thing I would worry about is who is hacked into their computer not them. I doubt your neighbors are hackers. One thing to watch out for are sites that really track you. Even those free ones at the stores, people setup right next to them (they look legit to connect to) and if you connect to them they will steal your info.

As you are stealing your neighbours broadband you deserve everything you get

And you openly admit to stealing it on an open forum

Unbelivable

Using your neighbor's (or anyone else's) wifi is THEFT OF SERVICES and is ILLEGAL.
