I have Windows Mail through Windows Vista. I am unable to send or receive any mail. My sent box shows what I sent but it isn't reaching it's destination. I sent myself a test email and it is sitting in my sent box but I did not get it. A test email I sent myself earlier ended up in my junk box. I have called several techs and they checked my connection and my server and it is not due to those. It is possible that it is my McAfee. Here is the error code I am getting:
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop-server.rochester.rr.com', Server: 'pop-server.rochester.rr.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
CAN SOMEONE HELP PLEEEEEEEEEASE? THANKS!!!

initially, being a geek isn't a nasty difficulty. A geek is someone who's attracted to something and persues it, rather a lot obsessively. for instance, i'm a workstation geek and a band geek, so I spend maximum of my time on my workstation, getting to draw close new stuff, and briefly growing captivated with internet sites like this one, and that i'm also in rather a lot each and everything that has to do with band or orchestra at my college. there become this guy in my biology classification. you do not should be a geek to be sensible.

Go to start/run and type msconfig.
Go to the startup tab and turn all the mcafee services off. The machine will re-start, then try again. Your mail settings are correct, I have just checked the server and it is OK. Be careful, do not open any attatchments as you are not protected, but I have emailed a test.

I use to have the same problem the issue is with outlook. Go this website this can help you, but you will have to change a few settings that might get your computer at risk of viruses, so read this tutorial first and then decide. Good luck.

Um, try disabling McAfee 1st. If that doesn't work reconfigure your e-mail, particularly your login and password for your mail account, usually provided by your ISP.

That error means one of two things.
You are using the WRONG pop address or you are using an incorrect account and password.
I would guess that pop-server.rochester.rr.com is incorrect.

OR
Vista is your problem....
