Its a Western Digital, Im not sure which kind. I really don't know. I got it about a year and a half ago.

I can hear it spinning. It hook up the usb cord to my computer and i turn it on, i have 4 different usb places to plug a usb cord into. I tried all four and it still doesnt work. I know theres nothing wrong with the places to plug the usb cord in, but im not sure why its not working.

I plug it into every place and it doesnt work.
I can hear the spinning inside of the external hardrive.

I am asking about the old Pentium 4.

I understand that for every processor, they have a processor number. How are they related to the processor themselves?

For example, what is the processor number for the Pentium 4 2.4 GHz (Socket 478)?

Likewise, what is the processor number for the Pentium 4 3.06GHz (Socket 775)?

I don't really know that much about computers but I'm buying a new laptop and the one I want has a 1.5GHz Core2Duo processor. It has enough RAM (2GB) and video memory(256MB) to run the games I want to play but will the processor be able to handle a game like Battlefield 2(requires 1.7 GHz) and run it smoothly?

I just bought a 750gb IDE hard drive (Seagate) and installed it alongside my original 120gb SATA drive.

Problem is, I'm finding that games run significantly slower when I install them on the IDE drive. Most games have some stuttering, and a few even drop into single digit frame rates (said games run fine in the 30-60 fps range when installed on my primary drive).

I know IDE is slower than SATA, but this is just ridiculous. Is there anything else that could be causing this? The IDE drive seems to be working normally, it transfers files and plays movies at what appears to be a normal speed.

I am looking to buy 2gb of DDR2 RAM @ 667. I currently have 1Gb.
I am already ordering some stuff from Tigerdirect, so I would not have shipping charges.

This is the ram I am considering from Newegg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820141210
This is the ram that I was looking at from Tigerdirect:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2341730&CatId=1386#detailspecs

I would buy two sticks of the one from Newegg. Both prices are about the same (with rebate and shipping). Which one should I buy?
