I recently travelled from KUL-TPE-LAX-MCO
KUL - 1x Xray; TPE another Xray, LAX another Xray. So, my
two SATA disks and my motherboard got xrayed 3x. My notebook also. My notebook works fine. I assembled my system just now, both of my hard disk are not recognized by my motherboard. It does not exist as far as the motherboard concern. Is it that my SATA disks are now wiped out?

I have a 4 year old external hard drive that just started acting up. When I start it up, Windows XP appears to recognize it and sometimes I can see it in "Disk Management." However I can not get on the hard drive as "My Computer" doesn't show it as a drive and I can't locate it by entering it in the search bar of Windows Explorer. Once in maybe every 20 tries it will work, but only for a couple minutes. It sounds like it's running ok, but it rarely shows up as a drive in "My Computer." I'm wondering if my computer or the hard drive has a virus. Or maybe the hard drive is dieing. I have tried adding it as a slave drive in a desktop computer with the same results. Any ideas?

I regularly use the free versions of AVG antivirus, Spybot Search & Destroy, and Lavasoft Adaware.

My hard drive seemed to mess up on me. I couldn't use it in my computer anymore.

I removed it and put it into my other computer as the Slave. XP ran the scandisk thing and fixed/deleted/restored many files etc etc.

When I'm at my Computer, the hard drive shows up, but I can't access it. It's corrupted or something.

How can I recover important information on this hard drive? ANY help would be appreciated!!! THanks

Ok, I need to make my computer faster, and here are the current specs:
processor: Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4ghz
video card: Geforce 7600GS
ram: 1gb

I am contemplating whether or not to purchase a Geforce 8600GTS and 2gb of ram, or just one of the two.
If I were to choose one of em, which one should I buy?

Thanks

I shall re-phrase the question.
I have installed a 250GB hard drive onto my computer, leaving the 80GB hard drive as the master. My OS is windows XP home ed. The only way to find the new hard drive is going into my computer then the C drive properties. No icon appears on the main screen of my computer when clicked. When trying to format the new drive, i can only format the C from the menu.

why computer keyboards have the "QWERTY" design, with all the letters jumbled up? Why aren't the keys alphabetical?

Does it have something to do with which letters are most used? Least used? Or did someone just think it would be funny to make you reach for the "e" when you're trying to type "cerulean"?

Sometime I forgot to shut my computer down when I go to sleep and let it run for a whole day. Will this damage the computer in anyway?

How long often should I shut down my computer?
