I have a Sempron 3000+ 2,0Ghz and an EVGAFX5500 AGP. I want a video card upgrade. I also know that my processor is very slow. What would be the best video card out there that I am not going to waste my money because of the bottlenecking of the CPU and the video card? help pls. I don't have a budget yet but not a budget to upgrade to a PCI-E.

i just recently bought a new laptop with the following specs:
intel core 2 duo T 7300 2.0 ghz
2 gb RAM
Nvidia 8600 GMT
120 GB 5400 rpm ghard drive
it's a vostro and i should be able to play most games; however when i play half life 2 my computer gets really hot and starts making all this noise and sometimes the game freezes. No it's not the problem with my hardware because even the game itself is recommending my system to the highest possible video settings and my computer has a 5.3 on the vista scoring index thingy. So is it safe for me to continue playing?

I have been looking for a new computer and have found that a computer with a dual core 3.2 is about the same price as a core 2 duo 1.8. I have also read that the core 2 duo is about 30% faster than a dual core. Do they mean at the same clock speed? ie a core 2 due at 3.0 is 30% faster that a dual core at 3.0? Also does that mean that a dual core 3.2 is about as fast as a core 2 duo at 1.8?

If they are talking about price point then it doesn't seem to make a difference because you get the same performance for the dollar with both?

I don't know why this question was removed but am asking it again anyways ... you find on newegg and tigerdirect and many other places where you can buy cpu retails 2 types of the same model .. cp1 duo and cp2 duo .. may someone please tellme the difference or is this like a plot where no one should know
If you don't know what i'm talking about you can go check it search for a q6600 u'll find 2 types one worth 500 bucks and the other one like 280 and the q700 has only one model which is like 550 bucks , but its cp1 .. following the 500 bucks cp1 q6600 .... which is why alota ppl get mixed up and confuse that the q6700 is much more expensive than the q6600 cp2 even though tis only an easily overclockable 266 mhz

I've mentioned it around here before, but I need a way to be able to get into a hard drive of mine that has a virus or something (it keeps restarting itself before getting to the desktop), but whenever I hook up the bad drive with the good one I am currently using (as a temporary), it loads both hard drives and I run into the same problem. Someone else mentioned something about hooking it to the slave deal. Anyways, can someone give me a simple, dumbed down version on how to hook my hard drive up to where I can pick and choose what to take from the bad drive and put on the good one?
