I have and ASUS A7V8X-LA and a Sempron 3000+ 2.0 Ghz. I want to overclock my processor if i can because I am going to buy a 7800GS AGP. I want to get the best out of my video card. I am probably wishing to overclock it to 2.2-2.4Ghz if i can.

Your motherboard seems to be a proprietary version of the A7V8X series. If so, it may have limited or no overclocking options at all. Your socket A Sempron may also have little overclocking headroom. It may still bottleneck the pretty fast 7800GS.

Consider moving up to a better platform like PCIe. Start on a cheap E2140 paired w/ a cheap 945 chipset. Then put a good PCIe card.

I've never seen an Asus board that wasn't overclockable and I've bought a lot of them. Go into bios("delete" upon startup)then click on "Advanced" then "jumper free settings"(may vary on your card cuz I'm an Intel guy.)
If you want the best out of your video card I question you overclocking the cpu and not your video card. I overclock both. Get riva tuner for your card.

You can find out if you can by going to your BIOS screen. When your computer boots up, you will have to press a certain key, usually delete or F8, but it may say something else. You can tell in there if your computer is capable of overclocking.
