Theres a limited number of choices for quad core built coolers. Hell, there arent any specifically made yet for quad core's. Not that I know of. I'm trying to find the perfect one can anybody help?

Q6600 is NOT too hot for many good coolers. Q6600 could either have 95W or 105W TDP depending on stepping. Best would be Thermalright Ultra 120 but Ultra 90 is also good. Also consider the coolers from Scythe. Mini Ninja would be fine for the 95W quad.

while water cooling and more exotic cooling setups are the best, if youre looking for the best air cooling, the current best heatsink is the thermalright ultra 120 extreme. this is just a heatsink and will cost you around 40-50 bucks. you will need to buy a fan as well, and i would suggest a scythe ninja, which is good, and very quiet! those 2 combined, provide possibly the best air cooling for a cpu. also, you will need to get thermal paste. while artic silver 5 is very good, and also the most popular, recent tests have shown that mx-2 paste by arctic cooling acutally outperforms it! its availibility is limited right now, so if you cant find it, get the arctic silver 5, but if you do get it, its right now, the best!

Water cooling is the only safe way to effectively cool a quad core chip. Get your self a high quality block, pump, and radiator combination. Look around tigerdirect.com or newegg.com. They have all the good stuff. In my opinion Zalman makes the best cooling rigs but I'm not sure if they are doing anything with water cooling systems.

Quads use the same fan/heatsinks any other 775's use.

Just make sure you spread Artic Silver 5 over the whole heatshield to cover all 4 cores, unlike just in the middle for single cores.
