i'm trying to install a 30gig hd in an older computer, i need a program to make the computer see it as a 30gig and not a 6gig. FDIISK will only partition about 6gig. do you know of a program that i can d/l or website. Thanks

My speaker model is Edifier. Its output is USB cable. It can be use until recently I bought a new stereo headset with microphone using USB output too. I can use both until my computer cannot detect any speaker. When I see through the Sounds and Audio Devices settings, it says no audio device. It shows Modem #0 line playback as my default speaker and microphone output. But when I open windows media player to play some song, I can hear it through my Edifier speaker. When I play movies in youtube, I can't hear any sound. There's no speaker icon on my taskbar. Please tell me what's wrong with my computer.

My 18 month old Dell Dimension 3000 runs perfectly in every way, but a couple weeks ago the fan started running extremely loud (at all times). The case is not in the least bit warm to the touch so I guess it is some kind of internal issue. Has anyone ever dealt with this same problem (with such a fairly "new" computer)? Please share whatever knowledge you have and try to help me! Thanks a million!

I have a Optorite DVD RW Drive and recently it will not open. I tried the little hole under the tray and nothing. I think that the tray is stuck. Do you know where/how I can fix this?

I have disabled and enabled my graphics card. Uninstalled and installed my card and its drivers. I have run anti spyware programs as well as ccleaner. Ive run chckdsk several times too. Finally after everything I reinstalled Windows entirely but still the problem persists. Error Code 12. Resources....... I have no clue. The computer has run fine for almost 3 years. Then I get the blue screen of death and Im stuck with a resolution from the 80's. Thank you in advance for your anticipated help.

hi i have a xfx nvdia 7950 graphics card and on high end graphics game the screen frame rate messes up wich causes like a ripples on the screen which im led to believe is called vertical sync, tearing i have the lastest drivers and tryed loads of old drivers and have messed about with nvdia control panel and turned off v sync turned it on left it to used the 3d application option and still get this annoying frame rate jerky ripples on screen is it something to do with microsoft, nvdia or direct x or is it my graphics card please can someone help me as im getting very annoyed with this as all games run smothly on the highest settings?

I have a homebuilt system and I'm trying to do a fresh install of Windows XP with Service Pack 2 because I caused the prior install to freak out when I upgraded my processor, motherboard and video card all at once. I was stuck in an infinite loop during the Windows install and suspected that my non dual channel memory was burned out so I bought two 1 GB sticks of DDR400 dual channel (crucial). Now when I try to resume setup I get the above error and it continues to reboot continuously with the same result.

My prior build was an Asus K8U-X (socket 754) w/AMD 64 3200+ and Radeon 9800 Pro AGP with 768 MB DDR400 single channel memory.

My current build is an Asus A8S-X (socket 939) w/AMD 64 4000+ and ATI x1650 PCI-e graphics card with 2 GB of DDR4-- dual channel memory. The HDD in both is an 80 GB IDE.

As you'll find out my Tech lingo is very low. Try to bear with me :P

We tried altering, some frequency thing from 100, to 133 after a few hours of it being slow and that apparently made it slower. We tried tinkering around with it for a while, and nothing seemed to help it any. After we reformatted his drive it actually ran slower.

Now he's depressed he spent over $100 on his new processor and it's not helping him play Supreme Commander like he's been dreaming about.

What might we do differently?
