i'm trying to install a 30gig hd in an older computer, i need a program to make the computer see it as a 30gig and not a 6gig. FDIISK will only partition about 6gig. do you know of a program that i can d/l or website. Thanks

Whose drive is it, Western Digital, Segate, etc. If you check the manufacturers site, they have the tools to do this. You need those to get this to work correctly. Most of the time its called "drive manager" or similar.
You might also check and see if there is a BIOS upgrade for your motherboard, the limit was in the bios.

Check and See If you can ReFlash the Bios on the Mother Board.

Format the drive with ntfs PRIOR to installing. I Always do it with an external enclosure.
