if you like, sell it to internet all your parts at lower cost or even your defective pc, then buy a new one .

You can probably try another supply...if the fan(s) and the board lights power up now, it may not be a PS problem.

Have you tried removing and checking your memory modules one by one? Bad memory can prevent BIOS from even starting up the boot, as can a bad video card or other device. Bring the computer down to bare bones and try to see where it stops it if comes back and insure all external connections are tight and not shorted

Power or not, no computer will run if it detects the CPU fan is bad, and some have an intrusion alarm option (which should be defeated if you need to work on it a lot).

If your BIOS does not start with a bad OS drive try a known good drive and rarely, unless you run it at extremes would the chip be dead (unprotected line during a surge for example).

If any part of your computer shows life or it quits sporadically, the power supply must be replaced. If it boots and then shuts off you may have a virus or spyware. Chances are that you can try another PS and proceed from there. New, old it's a computer and if it does what you need without major cost it's a good thing!

Best of luck!

Hi. They tend to contain bad things so don't just throw it out. There are recycling sites just for used electronics etc.
