My sounds messed up, and I was told that by reinstaling the sound card, the sound would be ok again.

I recently bought a new motherboard for my pc. It has a built in audio and a driver that comes along with it. The problem is that i cant get sound to come out of the speakers. Before i installed the driver, this message popped up "new hardware found, high speed audio device in audio bus". Then after i closed the balloon, this message popped "There is a problem in hardware installation, your audio device may not wok properly".

Could this message be a caused by me not installing the driver yet or could it be that the hardware is really busted?

Either way, the sound still does not work after driver installation.

last week , i have this problem with my PC. It automatically shutdowns while browsing the internet or playing an online game.

Ive tried antivirus programs/registry cleaners/defragmenting.. but still, it didnt solve the problem...

Finally, I guess that the problem is my CPU.... And when I checked the back of my CPU... i figure out that the fan/heatsink isnt working...

I wonder why its not working anymore coz i dont alter it... and before.. its working fine..

ALso Ive checked my CPU temperature in BIOS set up. This is what ive found out:

CPU temp (112.5 C / 230.5 F)
MB Temp (42 C/105.7 F)
CPU Fanspeed (4354 RPM)

PLs help me... if there is any comp tech here...

is there any program to turn on my cpu fan?

Just recently, when I play CD's, they are very slow and choppy and click alot. I figured my drive was either really dirty, or just old or going out. I ended up just buying a brand new one and it still does the same thing. It's not the Cd's or the lens being dirty, either. Everything else works great. I can play audio media files, The turntable works through the line-in just fine, and I can rip CD's and the wav files play back great. I even re-installed the driver, that didnt work. And its not the buffer or error correction either. So, my question is could it be the sound card, or wouildnt everything else not work either? If not the sound card, what else could be the problem??

What hardware should I buy to make a fully equipped sound recording studio from my home PC? I wish to record my guitar and synthesize drums, bass, percussion, piano and all the rest. As I figure it would take a good sound card and a rack synthesizer with a MIDI keyboard. Any suggestions?

An unfortunate flash drive nearby is showing this symptom:

Its a 512MB flash drive, but any PC its plugged into shows it as a "Floppy drive with 1.44MB".

I have no idea how this could be. I scanned it with my arsenal of AVG antivirus, AVG antispyware, Kaspersky online scan (after uninstalling the AVG duo) and Kaspersky antivirus. All have shown no threats on board. The flash drive works well only that it has room for only 1.44MB or as others have shown, 1.38MB. Can anyone diagnose my problem and offer a remedy that can restore this flash drive back to its 512MB capacity? Thanx a million.

The reason I ask this is because I was wondering how effective MS Vista is at using a USB pen drive as an extension to a PC's RAM as opposed to using a swap file on an internal hard disc.

Surely the hard disk is faster when it comes to data access speed, so why use a USB pen drive?

I recently built a computer and I just connected my fans and my DVD-drive in one long series circuit. Is this bad for the components as in will there be a significant diminishing of power to each component and will that result in under performance? Some info: my power supply unit is a 500 Watt ATX Rosewill

About a month ago, i must have had a virus. I lost all my pictures i had on my hard drive and am kicking my self for it. I had to reinstall just about everying. I try to play music (which i lost too) from Windows Media Player, and a pop up says "Cannot play back audio stream: no audio hardware is available, or the hardware is not responding." UH... no way.!!! I haven't done anything except a hard cleansing of all files from the computer. What the heck do i do?

I want to hear music on my computer again.!!!

I currently have the classic log on prompt (for some reason, like two month ago it changed by itself from Welcome Screen to Classic log on)
It didnt bugged me until i started sharing my computer, it just takes longer (typing in account name and password). So I tried to put it back to Welcome Screen. After I click "change the way of users log on or off", it pops an message saying:
"Client Services for NeClient Services and Netwaretware has disabled the Welcome Screen and Fast User Switching. To restore these features, you must uninstall Client Services and Netware"

my question is where and how can I uninstall Client Services and Netware so I can fix this thing? I try looking at Add and Remove but found no program called Client Services and Netware.

Thank you for your time~

I recently built a new computer. SMART status says hard drive is bad, so I'm going to RMA that from newegg.com. Other than that though, it took literally 5-10 minutes for the windows xp pro cold boot (when u first install the OS on a newly built PC) for the Windows Setup to show up (the blue screens). Is there something wrong with my dvd-drive? I'm pretty sure it isn't the motherboard, RAM, CPU or graphics card.
