About a month ago, i must have had a virus. I lost all my pictures i had on my hard drive and am kicking my self for it. I had to reinstall just about everying. I try to play music (which i lost too) from Windows Media Player, and a pop up says "Cannot play back audio stream: no audio hardware is available, or the hardware is not responding." UH... no way.!!! I haven't done anything except a hard cleansing of all files from the computer. What the heck do i do?

I want to hear music on my computer again.!!!

Right click My Computer/Manage/Services and Application/Services

when you see the list of services appear scroll towards the bottom and look for Windows Audio and check the status. It should be already started, if not then start the service and you should be OK.

Of course, this is assuming you're running WinXP

You'll need to reinstall the drivers for the sound card. If you don't have the CD for the sound card, go to the manufacturers site to download and install the driver from their download section.
