I recently built a computer and I just connected my fans and my DVD-drive in one long series circuit. Is this bad for the components as in will there be a significant diminishing of power to each component and will that result in under performance? Some info: my power supply unit is a 500 Watt ATX Rosewill

In a parallel circuit, each device will use current, while the voltage stays the same. In a series circuit, voltage decreases while current remains the same.

parallel is better for DATA transferring and could save a lot of time which means high performance.
