Take the example of a pen drive. Obviously there is one person or a group that invented it. But there are many manufacturers out there producing pen drives. How those who do not invent the pen drive are able to manufacture it? And how they obtain the machine and automation system that allows the manufacturing process?

i can rip cds to my player but when i try to burn music from my player it says"no cd or dvd burner has been detected...press F5 to refresh player, when i do this,nothing happens & it still does not recognize a recording device. i also checked out my burner with my computer & it says that this device is working properly.help me please!

Desktop:Compaq
OS:Windows 2000

Drives : CD and DVD

Symptoms:
1) CD Drive's light lits up when I open it from the outside- the drive does open
2) DVD drive doesnt respond nad doesnt open at all
3) My Computer doesnt show the drives at all
4) I checked the BIOS- I am not sure but I think its not detected by the BIOS either
5) I also have windows 98- it doesnt show up in windows 98 either


I am tempted to think its not virus or os but a hardware problem
I am not sure where should I start to investigate this

any ideas?

We have a printer hooked up to a computer with a USB extension cable. We are having problems trying to attach other USB devices when this cable is in use (it works fine if we connect the printer without the cable.)

Is there something we can do? How about an extension hub (vs. just a cable?)

My assignment has to be attached as a Word document, all I have is Word pad. My instructor will not accept any attachments that are not in a Word format. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any sites. I have dial up and it is very slow.

I'm not looking necessarily for game comparisons but which of these two has better specs? I don't play many games with this computer, and those I do are online such as Pogo. I do decode & burn DVD's on this machine. This machine currently has the 9600 installed and I was given the FX card recently. I want to make sure it's an actual upgrade before I swap them out.

I recently purchased a microphone system that I am hoping to plug into my laptop. However, the slot in the reciever is the size of the slot in normal guitars. The microphone slot on my computer is the size of an average headphone/earbud chord head. Is there some sort of adapter for this? If so, what would something like this be called?

I've got a pc which is a few years old but it does the job. Recently i downloaded a free optimising check program.It advised me to upgrade my processor. I have a AMD Athlon XP 2400+ . I've been to a few sites but it is quite confusing, some offer free "driver dowloads" does this improve my processor ?? If so what one do I download? Sooo many options.

I need to find a way of installing a standard PC (e.g. Pentium 4) into a car. The standard PSU is designed to be connected to a 240V AC supply. I've tried an AC/DC convertor but these things heat up and require large amounts of power (Amps) and they take up a lot of space and do get quite hot when running.

I think all of the output on the PSU are DC and below 12v so could i not just create a simply circuit to step the voltage down to the correct levels 3.3v, 1.5v ect and then draw off the current at these levels.

Any ideas?
