yes, its point and click.
Go to start, --> All programs,--> accessories ----> system tools ----> Disk Defragmenter.
After it opens click defragment.
It can take anywhere from 5 minutes to a few hours, depending on your computer.
But dont do anything while its going; just let ur comp sit, otherwise itll just slow down.
I usually do it overnight.
It rearranges your files on the hard drive so they are all together. When Windows writes info to ur Hard drive, it gets spread all over the place. Then when you delete stuff, random gaps appear.
Defragmenter eliminates those gaps and puts each file together in one spot. It makes reading your hard drive faster for your comp.

Go into my computer and right-click your C:/ drive. Then go to properties and click on the "tools" tab. There will be a button that says "defragment now" and you click that to degrag your hard drive. It involves nothing more than clicking the button.
It can take a while, especially if your computer is in bad condition. it can take up to an hour or even more, or it could take 10 minutes. it all depends.
Defragmenting will make your computer perform faster and it will respond noticably faster.
Hope this helps you

The default Microsoft defraging program takes literally forever to complete. Instead, get Ultimate Defrag by DiskTrix. It's pretty straight forward. All you do is start it up and it tries to pack everything as close as possible to the outer-tracks of the disk to cut down seek time.
If you're feeling a bit more brave, you can set what programs you want closest to the MFT (the outer-most track and first accessed track) to make sure that your most commonly used programs will give you the most optimal response time. You can also move the unused files to the inner most track. 80% of the time, you use only 20% of the disk.

When a file is written on a disk it is written on to locations that come under the disk write heads in sequence while writing. That means the next read access is very fast also. If instead that file is just fit into whatever space happens to be left on the disk at the time of writing, not all parts will be in that fast-to-read positioning.
Defraging takes each file and moves any parts of it that are not sequential so that read access will be rapid.
The easiest way - go to Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Defragmenter.
The speed depends on the size of the drive and the speed of your PC, so I would do it overnight.

Its relativeley easy.
Just click on My Computer and select the drive you want to defrag.
