Chord/Wire Adapters?

I recently purchased a microphone system that I am hoping to plug into my laptop. However, the slot in the reciever is the size of the slot in normal guitars. The microphone slot on my computer is the size of an average headphone/earbud chord head. Is there some sort of adapter for this? If so, what would something like this be called?

You're probably looking for a 1/4" to 1/8" mono plug adapter. Radioshack or Wal*Mart have them.
