The RAM at Best Buy is correct/compatible.

It's expensive at $90 for 512mb.,,plus whatever sales tax or shipping??

Just for example:

Here's a Full 1GB for $120(shipped) on Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/Apple-iMac-G5-Dell-HP-1GB-184-Pin-DDR-400-PC3200-Ram_W0QQitemZ290049123012QQihZ019QQcategoryZ80037QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

Here's 512mb for $67(shipped) from same place
http://cgi.ebay.com/Dell-HP-iMac-G5-512-MB-184-Pin-DDR-PC-400-Memory-PC3200_W0QQitemZ290049140975QQihZ019QQcategoryZ80037QQcmdZViewItem

Corsair Website sez:
"Corsair ValueSelect Series DDR SDRAM
ValueSelect series DDR SDRAM provides cutting-edge quality at competitive prices. All ValueSelect modules are 100% Corsair-guaranteed for reliability and compatibility."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's not that paying $20~30~40 "too much" is the Worst Thing in the world that can happen.....
It's that if you can put Another $20~30 with the $90 you're looking at spending,,,
You can get TWICE as much RAM.
1GB vs 512mb~"1/2 GB"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
HP's are Intel based computers.
They can be Tricky>FINICKY about RAM

There's LOTS of "Cheap" NON-COMPATIBLE Ram floating around which is 100% Fine for SOME PC's.

I assume You have a HP?
In any case,,,"HP Compatible RAM" is sorta "universally compatible" because it's INTEL Compatible.
(Assuming correct type & specs,of course)

APPLE/Mac RAM is The KING of Compatibility,,it meets the most stringent specs.
Any RAM compatible with INTEL motherboards,,,such as DELL,Compaq,HP,most Gateway,Sony will be compatible with "anything"

The Buzzword most commonly used is LOW-DENSITY.

"Low Density" == High Compatibility

If You're hesitant to buy from Ebay,,,

Here's some retailers

Yes it is compatible, but here it is, the exact same stick:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145026 for about $30 less. Don't ever buy RAM at Best Buy.

get another 512 of same spec.it might also speed up yor pc if yor mother borad is dual channel(4 ram slots). its always better to keep it 2x512(1 gb) than to buy another 1 gb stick.and you can always use yor existing ram too.

Yes it should work.. Though mixing different brands of RAM is recommended it will still work!

it should work, but those two stores have expensive memory. Check newegg.com, it has the memory around $55.
