My PC is not recognizing my DVD+R blanks. How can I make sure they're compatible with my DVD/CD burner on my PC?

The DVDs: Verbatim DVD+R 4.7GB, 120 min video, up to 16X

Dual Channle Memory?
okay,i want to buy more ram for my laptop[i have 256mb at mo] and went to www.crucial.com to get some

so i downloaded the program to get my recommended extra ram
and my system stats


so i have 1 free ram slot.good news*cheers*

it says i need DDR PC2700 type memory,thats cool ,they recommened some

1 problem:they have alist of questions i can ask and they give automatic answers:
1 of them is Does my computer support dual channel memory?
it said no


what does that mean?




if i get another 256 of ram, DDR PC2700, will it doublem my ram and make programs run faster?

okay.. i copied some vista tranformation tool and changed my windows media center edition look to vista appearance. i ddnt like it so i uninstalled it back. in the process, the system lost its ability to produce sound. i mean there is no sound at all. i checked the software part.theres no prob with it. i checked all the connections.they are all fine. and the hard drive icon has also changed to somthg (the icon that normally appears for .dat files)
i tried to system restore but unfortunately i dnt create any restore point.
wat should i do now?please help me/

big thanks to all who had answer my previous question about removing a password. i failed to make it clear that it was a bios password.
i had once remove a bios password of a generic motherboard by detaching/attaching the jumper. but this time it is difficult because the main board of dell computer seems very strange to me.

I'm trying to plug in my computer monitor and it won't fit in the back of my PC because one of the cable's metal prongs is missing and the others are a little bent out of shape. It doesn't fit evenly enough to plug in. How can I fix this? Is it a total loss? Please help!!!!

Also, on my other computer the speakers are plugged in but they don't work - as in no noise is coming out of it. How do I fix this problem too? I don't know much about computers, so anything would help! Thanks

Big up yourself, I be making a computer, I have a graphics card (it couldn't even run age of empires 1), a sound card, a wireless chip that lets me hook onto my neighbors internet connection (JK), a modem, a 20GB hard drive and a floppy drive, I get 80 squid (pounds) a month so I have a tight yet goodish budget innit. Oh yeah, BTW I am 13 year old super neek.

I had a big problem with my laptop being slow, audio choppy, slow programs to loads times taking 10 to 20 min. I called HP T-1 support for help and they took over 10 hours on four different phone calls to never resolve my Computer problems

After doing web searches, reading forums I found my problem. which I added for others but my question is how in the heck do these people get hired and are total idiots, So much time lost.



I found the problem:

"PIO MODE", http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Programmed_input/output, which causes so many problems that most tier 1, 2 help desk has no clue exist.

Many times we end users find and fix many problems that help desk has no clue!

I am installing a new hd & its driving me crazy!!!
I set 1 to master & other to slave,
it reads both,
i changed the bios to read A: first.
drives have been partitiond but not formatted!
I CANNOT get a command prompt at startup
I have inserted win98/98se/2000/me/xp startup/boot disk & still no luck,
the computer was just fine with 1gb & win98,
then I deleted the partition & made it active & I can't get it to boot with the boot disk & I don't have an A: prompt or nothing,
I've done this plenty of times & have never had a problem until now!

PLEASE HELP!

brought my Indian PC (CPU only) in Canada. I checked the powerpack specification before switching on. It was 115 - 240 input voltage. So I switched on, but PC is not getting on. The power light just come for one second and goes off.

I thought this may be because of pwoer pack is not matching., so I went for purchasing a new power pack. In the shop I saw the specification on new one, I came to know that it is same as per my Indian power pack. I did not purchase the new power pack.

I need soulution what is wrong and how can I rectify it.
