brought my Indian PC (CPU only) in Canada. I checked the powerpack specification before switching on. It was 115 - 240 input voltage. So I switched on, but PC is not getting on. The power light just come for one second and goes off.

I thought this may be because of pwoer pack is not matching., so I went for purchasing a new power pack. In the shop I saw the specification on new one, I came to know that it is same as per my Indian power pack. I did not purchase the new power pack.

I need soulution what is wrong and how can I rectify it.

Possible causes:

Bad Motherboard
Bad PowerSupply (I would not rule that out)
Bad Memory
Bad Hard Drive

and so on. It could be just about anything. My inclination is to think that it is a bad motherboard since it isn't doing much of anything. If it was at least getting past POST (Power On Self Test) and getting you to the BIOS you might be able to diagnose the problem but it's not even doing that.

Also, it's possible that when you turned it on for the first time, the power supply fried the motherboard, not saying it did but it's a possibility. You could try a new power supply and if that didn't work, then it's probably the motherboard (again, since it's not doing ANYTHING). Well, it's either the motherboard or the processor. But usually, if the processor is gone so is the motherboard. I know, I had the very same thing happen to me with an eMachine (that's why I build mine now).

Most likely, both the motherboard and processor are bad, your graphics card (provided it's not integrated) is probably okay and most likely so is your memory, hard drives and optical drives.

I'd look to the motherboard, processor or both for your difficulties. You'll probably have to replace one or both. Note, plugging a new processor into a bad motherboard will cause it to malfunction or toast itself.

If I were you, I'd replace the motherboard and processor and the power supply for good measure and go from there. If that works then you know it was one of them. Testing a bad processor in a new motherboard is also a bad idea.

You can get a Power Supply tester for about $20, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16899887004 if you wanted to try that first.

Hardware failure many times implies a hardware situation. Seeing as the way you're speaking approximately taking part in mp3s on your pc, your CPU is high quality. in case you CPU replaced into broken, it may be a huge paperweight doing no longer something. i could verify your drivers and make confident each and every thing is put in properly on the puter, be sure you have have been given appropriate suited formats, and probably switchout the soundcard with some thing else thinking you merely get this message while attempting to play music. desire this helps!
