okay.. i copied some vista tranformation tool and changed my windows media center edition look to vista appearance. i ddnt like it so i uninstalled it back. in the process, the system lost its ability to produce sound. i mean there is no sound at all. i checked the software part.theres no prob with it. i checked all the connections.they are all fine. and the hard drive icon has also changed to somthg (the icon that normally appears for .dat files)
i tried to system restore but unfortunately i dnt create any restore point.
wat should i do now?please help me/

no there is no date..i ahve yesterday and todays date. but i installed it like 3 days back..i cant use system restore :(

okay i found out a way to change the hard drive icon.
can someone help me with the sound failure please!!!!!

Do a system restore.Click "start","programs","accessories","system tools" and then"system restore".You should have some date that is good in there.

create your own restore point to the date before you done it see if that will work it is easy to do so you should have no problem with that but not sure if that would fix problem . you could also reinstall miada center
