Could be many things...
1) When you turn on the monitor, does the light go from green to yellow? If so, this indicates that the monitor isn't getting a signal from the computer. Some monitors don't change the color of the light so this isn't always a valid check.

2) Do you know for sure that the monitor works? Can you connect it to another computer/laptop just to verify this?

3) Remove the monitor cable from the back of the computer. Check that all of the pins are straight. If not, gently bend them back in place with a needlenose pliers. Replace the cable, making sure it is properly oriented and fits all the way in. Tighten the screws. Check to see if that fixes it.

4) Could be if you have a video card (rather than circutry on the motherboard) that the card has become loose. Open the cover and reseat the card. BE SURE to be properly grounded whenever working inside the computer.

5) If you have a built-in video or have both the built-in and an external video card, could your BIOS settings have changed to tell the system to disable the built-in video or to use it when you're really using an external card? Check this too.

Hope this helps.

Actually, your graphics/video card might be fried. You can always try to buy an Nvidia video card. Or your video card is probably disabled. I have 2 in my pc cause I had bought a better and I'm only using the better one(the other one is disable) The screen turned black when I disabled it and I thought i messed up, but the instructions said, and i had to do that and switch the blue colored connector to the other video card. Could also be the monitor isn't working right.

If the skill easy on the computer screen isn't coming near, the subject is with the computer screen. In a case like this, that's the two a bad cable or the skill grant interior the computer screen has died.
