i have a dell dimension 4600 and im having trouble picking the correct driver to install can anyone walk me through at the moment the game is working but keeps crashing like every 5 min .

i was trying to get all the data off of it by putting it as a master slave IDE.. seconds after i turned the computer on i smelled something and the slave hard disk was on fire.. is there anyway to retrieve the data off of it still without currupting anything else???

was reading my usb flash drive manual and it said that it may be a good idea to add a password on the usb flash drive (i did it on my home computer) and when i got to my class to open a file i clicked on the part where it sayes to open the usb drive and it said type he password (so i did) and it said that it couldn't open it up! What could be causing it not to open! please help i reall need the things that i saved on it! (it will open at home, but not at school) I tried going to the properties drop down menu and see if there was any thing to change but I didnt find anything - so please if you would help!!!!!!!!!! Our family computer (desktop) is going extremely slow. It is almost two years old.

We will have the computer all start up and then we won't be able to move the mouse. Or if we do try and move it, it will take awhile. It is defanitly not because the mouse is broken


Any ideas?!

I plan on building my first pc soon, and I need 4gb's of 800mhz ddr2 memory. My IT person says to use crucial ballisticts, but it would cost nearly a thousand dollars to buy from them. I only have about two hundred dollars. Any suggestions??

I took out my space bar while cleaning my keyboard and found a thin, metal bar under it. When I pop the space bar back in without the metal bar, it's wobbly, so my guess is that it's there to make it more stable. I can't figure out how I'm supposed to put the metal bar back in though. Does anyone know how and/or know what its purpose is?

I bought myself a new hard drive, thinking i could install it easily. it's an IDE hard drive. When I opened up my pc, however, i discovered that it has a SATA hard drive installed... I installed the new IDE anyway, and it is being recognised by windows as drive d... i have used Acronis True Image to clone the old SATA onto the new IDE, set the jumper on the IDE to master, but if i remove the old SATA, the pc wont boot up to the new IDE...

I wanted to replace the old drive with the new one, but the new one wont act as master, can anyone advise me what Ive missed?

I have an external hard drive conected by usb to my hard drive, I have a copy of windows that i would like to install and boot completely from that hard drive. Or possible create a dual boot sittuatin. I know that i will have to use bios but tell me how exectly i will do that?

I have purchased a new intex microphone, but the sound is too low. I have uninstalled my sound-driver and reinstalled it but still the problem persists. Even I tried with other microphone but the problem is still there. Pls anyone help me.
Note: I am using Intel(r) AC'97 Audio Controller dirver and my OS is Windows XP SP2

I think that my computer may have recieved a virus that seems to have wrecked my bios chip because my computer will not do anything when it comes on. The only thing that happend is the fans power up and there is a little blinking dot on the top right corner of the screen. But if I replace the mother board or bios chip wont the virus still be on my hard drive so as a result wont the virus fry my new bios chip if that is possable plesase help me
