Most add-on cards for your computer are a specific size to fit into a standard size case. Some computer including the "low-profile" dell, hp, gateway and etc. use "low-profile" cards which basically just have a smaller metal plate on it's end to fit into the case... the card itself may be the same size as the regular card (only the metal piece will be different. [on the high end expensive cards you may notice a size difference on the card as well, however most users don't need high end cards unless they play newest videogames]

Just the height of the card. There are very small computer cases out there that will only take half height cards (low profile).

Yeah, what do you propose? Small type ingredient and slimline pcs commonly don't have potential resources higher than 270 watts at best. once you've one in all those tiny pcs with an uber-uncommon subcompact four hundred watt potential provide, then you actually ought to run a low-profile Radeon HD 6670 or GeForce GTS 450. yet maximum persons with slimline pcs are stuck with awful 225 watt potential resources, meaning a Radeon HD 6450 or 5450 is all they could use.
