I plan on building my first pc soon, and I need 4gb's of 800mhz ddr2 memory. My IT person says to use crucial ballisticts, but it would cost nearly a thousand dollars to buy from them. I only have about two hundred dollars. Any suggestions??

Well I have to agree with everyone else, you are not getting 4 GB for $200, that is just not going to happen. You don't need 4 GB however, and frankly you don't even need 800 MHz unless you are an overclocker. Stick with 2 GB, in the form of 2 1GB sticks, and I would really recommend getting 667 instead. Crucial is a good brand, so is Corsair or Kingston. If you want further help, feel free to email me.

Your not going to be able to buy 4 gigs for $200.

I would say that the guy was trying to rip you off, you should be looking at about $150 per gig of memory (or about $600 + S&H)

Check out www.newegg.com they have the best prices for computer parts. I would suggest any memory from them that has a 4 or 5 egg rating.

You don't need to start off with 4GB of RAM, and you won't find anyone who sells even the worst quality for anywhere near $200 for 4GB.
