Its quite easy if your motherboard is latest or its BIOS is updated.
In the BIOS booting sequence we option boot from HDD, boot from CD-ROM,
Similarly we also have option Boot from USB, if your motherboard BIOS have this option., then you can do it.
Your USB device must have booting operating system, which boot up the system.
If your BIOS doesn't support Boot from USB, then look for BIOS updated, but this updating process is quite risky, so better to take it to some expert person in hardware,
Hope you will find your problem solved., Bye

You'll have to check the boot options in the BIOS. It will say like "Boot Order" or "Boot Priority". If you don't see "USB" as an option, then you can't. Not all motherboards support it.

As far as i know you can only boot from a drive like you are talking about if it is within the bios you have. Check in your manual. If it is not included, chances are you won't be able to.

sounds like the no longer difficulty-free tension failed. you will desire to pull the strain with media middle on it and plug it as much as a different computing device and attempt extracting the documents. yet so some distance as your question you could set up an OS with an exterior no longer difficulty-free tension yet you be extra suitable off no longer doing that.
