It starts loading windows and then the screen turns blue with a black rectangle and starts all over.

Could it be a hardware issue?

Video card?

I added ServicePack 2, The procedure didnt finish. The next time I booted the screen is saying searching for boot record from IDE 0 and it stays like that forever. Tried to boot from CD ROM and it skips the CD ROM and agin tries to boot from IDE. It is a P3 machine with 128 Mb RAM and 20 GB Storage capacity. I want to format the c: drive and re-install XP ........Please give some 'to the point' solutions............its really bugging my head......

okay so this is th exact question, my hard drive(d) disappeared from my computers a couple weeks ago. bios recognizes it, it sounds fine, i hear ir spinning, there's no dust, i just need to find it. my cables are fine and a data recovery programs can read it, but i don't think i need to go that far. any suggestions?
and no when i type it into search it says it can't find it. i need it back because of the lack of space on my c drive that's where i stored everything. i didn't have a cd data burning program so i didn't back it up. now i have it but can't find d drive. help?

My computer was shut down last nite and I couldn't turn it on all I got was a black screen saying "there are some files missing" could it be a virus? I think I should format my pc but honestly I never done this before so I'd be very glad if you could tell me what to do step by step....Thanx in advance....

I have a Pentium II and running Windows XP, with only 256 MB RAM. I know it's an old processor but it's so slow and keeps freezing up. I run a complete scan with a specialized program I downloaded off the internet which helps a lot, but I have the need for speed. Please help!

I have an older computer,and i decided to try and get it up and running again,I put a powersupply in it,plugged it in,green light on the motherboard lit up,and I pushed the power button and nothing.

Could it be that the switch to turn it on is bad or is it a motherboard problem??

I am interested in buying a new computer to use for designing and animation. I am tired of computers which take for ever to load a simple effect in designing software once the resolutions is a bit bigger than usual or once a 3D design starts to get slightly detailed.

I know about software, I don’t know much about hardware.

Please suggest the best solutions in detail, about ROM, RAM, dualCORE, graphic’s card, best screens, the whole shebang…! Mind you that it is for professional work as well as playing videogames (part of the profession), so no medium capacity stuff.

Would appreciate a price estimate if possible.

I have a hard dirve that is devided into 2, C and D but my CD device was installed into my D drive. Concidering that I have a pentium 2 would it be easier to try to get that space back or buy a new hard drive.

For some reason when i put a CD into my CD-ROM drive on my laptop it acts like it sees it but nothing comes up. when i go to My Computer to see if its there there is no icon. it has worked in the past. HELP!!! and it is not dirty. i think it just got uninstalled or something. I will download if i have to but a friend is having the same problem on his desktop and he has dial-up so he cant download. I however can download and will if i have to. please help

it doesnt really bother me, but i wanna know what that is???

i have the sont vaio 20 screen with the wireless keyboard and wireless mouse.

it is making a very faint bussing like a bee noise. it is not that noticeable but if you pay attention to it, you can hear it.

help?????
