do computer screw charts exist? strange question I know but I am after a chart that would show me what each kind of screw is used for IE face plates, cd/floppy drive, mother board etc

it dont mater what kind of computer as surely all the screws that are used are the same in most cases. please provide a link if possible to any charts.

do what i did. trial and error
you couldn't possilby hurt your computer
(but always nice to use logic)
for the motherboard
you arn't supposed to screw it in at all points
it will put too much tension on your board and it will snap
to every hole closest to the side where all your output/input slots are
that is usually on the left side (having the case opened and looking down at the motherboard)
then fill in the corner holes
or ones as close to it as possible
but not all
if it doesn't go in
don't force it
then fill in a couple more making surethe motherboard doens't move

I just keep a homemade chart of what types go with what system, and keep them all in my toolbox. There are many that if used incorrectly, can smoke something- or break it without any knowledge it happened, so yes, there is good reason to be particular when it comes to computer screws and fastners.

Yes they exist for at least some makes of PC.
