Because I bought a hi-speed usb card, and it says I need v.2.1 to run it.

I know you answered, but, then everyone just went away. So I made a new question My Bus speed is currently at 199.7 mhz. My FSB is 799.9mhz.

Most motherboards, made after 1998, support the PCI bus 2.1 specification.

I answered this question in your original question. PCI don't have a version. There are two types of PCI slots. The original PCI and the PCI Express for Graphics Cards (they are not supposed to be used for USB cards). The current USB version is 2.0 If there is a newer version, then you need to have in your BIOS, if anything. To upgrade your BIOS, you will need to go to the Website for the company that made the Motherboard. But, be careful, BIOS upgrades can be difficult and if you mess up, you will have a dead motherboard.

Well it depends on your mother board, you can check the brand and model of your mother board and from that reference you will know if it supports USB 2 or not. Usually if your PC is Pentium 4 or higher then most likely your PC supports USB 2. If it is less, then it may not support it and needs a PCI card to support USB 2.
