yes most of the new psu's have a removeable 4 pin and call it a +4 the early enermax came with an adapter

You could modify it but I don't recommend it. :)

I've done something similar in the past to integrate an AT motherboard to an industrial power supply. It worked but it took many hours to do from documented pin assignments and voltage measurements.
