For some reason when i put a CD into my CD-ROM drive on my laptop it acts like it sees it but nothing comes up. when i go to My Computer to see if its there there is no icon. it has worked in the past. HELP!!! and it is not dirty. i think it just got uninstalled or something. I will download if i have to but a friend is having the same problem on his desktop and he has dial-up so he cant download. I however can download and will if i have to. please help

The drive is bad.

did u recently used applications like s4hide?
or did u instaled aplications like alcohool 120% or daemon tools?
if u did, it is possible that u'r sistem changed u'r drive letters. right click on my computer, manage, storage, disk management.
change the drive letter on u'r cd-rom drive
