I have an ACER Laptop (Aspire 3620)... I just got it last week so things are still kind of new to me. I plugged in my USB wireless mouse and it worked just fine. The mouse on the computer also worked at the same time.
Now my wireless mouse works...but the mouse on the keyboard doesn't. Maybe there is some button but I cannot figure it out.....I've looked at the settings and etc. I don't know what happened...but I don't want to use my wireless mouse right now....I want to use the touchpad. I was thinking maybe the touchpad somehow got uninstalled. after looking at acer.com for support I noticed that you can download the sysmentic touchpad...so i've tried to open the zip file, and i extracted all of the files in the zip but its still now downloading anything.
Help! Thanks--
I've tried everything...

Is it bad for your computer/lap tap to turn it off every night before going to bed and then turning it back on again in 8 hours on a daily basis? Or is it better to just put it on Stand by mode when you're going to turn it on again later anyway in eight hours or so?! It's like best to turn of your car engine to save gas when you're gonna be more than a few minutes waiting sort of thing?! lol :))

I took it back to CompUSA but they told me they'd need to send back to the manufacturer which could take two weeks. I can't be without my computer for that long.

I have a SmartStep 250N. First of all, I turned it on and it said "Operating System not found." I took out the hard drive and turned it back on and the screen was blank. I hooked it up to a monitor and the screen was blank. If I put a new hard drive in it, will it come back to life? Or do I have deeper problems?

If I must spend close to $2000 of my hard-earned, then the laptop ought to arrive exactly as I ordered it. But I've been researching and comparing and I keep coming up with great laptops that are constipated with an overload of pre-installed programs.
Sellers force their buyers to bend over and take it up the hard drive - it is just plain wrong. To buy a new laptop is like paying for toe-jam: the ones I look at have tons of superfluous pre-installed programs - computer 'toe-jam' - that I neither want nor need.
Am I the only frustrated consumer out there? HELP!!
