Is Intel Pentium M Processor better than Intel Core Duo Processor? I want to buy a laptop but have no clue what-so-ever about the components.

The Duo processor is ridiculously fast because it supports hyperthreading (link to def below).

If you are looking to use your laptop for everyday stuff like checking email, browsing the web, or light gaming then the M or even the Core Single processor will be fine. (the single core is inbetween the M and the Duo)

But if you want to spend an extra few bucks for speed like you have never seen before go with the Duo.

While Intel Pentium M processor is a single core processor (like Intel Pentium 4) for mobile devices, Intel Core Duo consists of two cores, a 2 MiB L2 cache shared by both cores, and an arbiter bus that controls both L2 cache and FSB access.

Its like present Intel Pentium 4 Vs Intel Pentium D (Dual Core) in PCs. At any time Core Duo will be better
