it's too expensive what you get for your money. technically it's no more to distinguish from other laptops, except you want to run OS X. you can get pretty much cheaper laptops with a comparable performance, e.g. the Dell Inspiron E1505.

Yes, you could get a bit more performance for your money from a PC notebook.. but a macbook is an excellent machine, few people would argue with that. There are plenty of in-depth reviews on the mac-book online, just type "macbook review" into google and there will be a boat-load of information for you to help make your decision. I have a sony vaio, and i'm very happy with it, but macbooks from most accounts are quality machines if you don't mind learning something other than windows (i'm assuming you're not already a mac user).

Yes especially if you are going to be doing alot with pictures or videos. I have a 13" macbook with a built-in isight. You can take pictures with this and even record things with it. It also has some things at the bottom of the screen that show the weather and can translate languages. I like it.
