i would like your opinion on these components please, i'll be using this PC for extream gameing.
also i'm a 3D modeller and animatior.
and if you think i could get something instead of any of these componets please recomend them, but i'm building this PC on a budget, so if you're recomending anything for a replacement of any of these, please make sure they are kind of at the same price.

i also need to know if 880W is enugh, too much or alright.

For the past few months, I've been having issues with my computer when plugging in USB devices. First I thought it was a problem with my iPod, but now I realize it's pretty much any USB device. 95% of the time, inserting or removing any USB device causes my PC to BSOD.

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium on an eMachines (ugh, piece of crap) T6544. It's been doing this since around August, I believe. I have had this PC since December 2006, and hadn't had any problems until August.

I've tried System Restore (doesn't even go back close enough to where this problem could have been fixed) and no luck.

How can I stop this nuisance from continuing?

I had set up an older HP for my kids and they insisted on playing runescape. The conclusion? One day the computer froze up, they turned it off and the video will not reboot the video. You can hear it trying to boot up but there is no video at all.

It is an HP, 800MHZ, 128MB RAM, 20 gig hard drive.

It's not working anyway so I figured I'd give it a shot as a computer project of my own...but what type of PCI video card should I go for? What MB, etc?

I have 2 WiXP install boot CD's; (1) XP Pro install boot CD (2) XP Home Boot Disc (came with the pc). I would rather use the one that came with it as that is what it's built to use. I formatted the HD and started installing Win with the CD that came with it. At 84% done of copying files progress bar it started giving me an error message that was saying some DLL files were not found and to put the disc that contained the files and try again. I hit retry a few times and tried the other cd and neither worked. So, I hit "skip file" and kept doing it for every file for the rest of the installation. I knew this wasn't going to work, but I figured that I could repair it afterward if I could get into Win. But, after the restart and now I am getting this error message: “NTLDR is Missing : Press ctrl + alt + Delete to Restart”. (read the reast in the additional details)

I have a friend who bought a desktop with the ff specs:
-Intel Quad Core Q6600
-MSI P35 Neo-F motherboard
-2x Apacer 1GB DDR800
-Seagate 320GB Sata
-Sparkle 8600GT 512MB 128-bit graphic card

the problem:
-everytime he plays DOTA of Warcraft3 and GG client (for online multiplaying) he gets a blue screen white text error then reboots by itself.

-I've changed the memory, hard drive and graphic card... and he still gets the blue screen thing. However, when he plays other games like NFS Carbon, he doesn't get the blue screen thing.

-the only parts that I have not change is the processor and board because I don't have any spare board that supports quad core.

hope someone could help.. tnx a lot!!

I have my Sony PCV-RZ40CG desktop for several years with no problem. Recently, upon startup, it went to a screen saying something about a S.M.A.R.T system (which I never heard about in the past) and it was saying that the hard drive status was bad, and to back up/replace it... Well, I tried several different ways to back my stuff up to anouther drive, with the aid of a few friends who know this stuff, but with no luck.

Now, I only want to replace my hard drive with a new one, just to get it working again, and I'm putting off data recovery until later, but I'm not sure which drive to get. The original was a WD 200GB IDE, any suggestions?

Also, the computer came with no recovery disks, and when I first booted it, it wanted me to burn them myself... I was wondering, with the recovery disks I made, will I be able to reinstall the Windows XP Media Center Edition on the new drive? I really don't want to have to buy a new OS if possible. Ask if you have any ?'s, thanxx in advance.

I don't have the specific specs of the board. The fan is attached directly on top of the processor and has two plastic levers that snap down. (I'm trying to take it off to clean it).

I moved the levers and it releases, but it doesn't pull off or anything.

Does anyone know if it slides a certain direction or if there is something else I need to disconnect to get it off?

Thinking of purchasing the above for grandson but as a novice to the world of Pc's need some advice on the above and in particular it's ability as a gamer.Seen it priced @ £300.00 which is about the right price budget wise.Would'nt require it to be the most sophistacated machine but at the same time handle games similar to "The Simms" .Could I please ask for any answers to be of a sensible nature and not too technical. If it turns out to be unsuitable maybe someone can recommend an alternative bearing in mind the budget.

This is an iConcepts 800-watt 2.1 sound system for PCs and whatnot. The price is $17.98. This sounds like a typo, is it? It's on Wal-Mart, here> http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3380777

If it isn't a typo, does anybody have this system? Is it worth buying? How does it sound?
