The most expensive one-
Processor: Intel Pentium™ 4 3.0 GHz HT (with HyperThreading Technology)
Memory: 1 GB DDR RAM
HDD/FDD/CDROM: 250 GB, 1.44 FDD, DVD-Rom

The other two cheaper ones-
Processor: Intel Pentium™ 4 2.6 GHz
Memory: 1GB DDR RAM
HDD/FDD/CDROM: 250 GB, 1.44 FDD, DVD-ROM

Processor: Intel Pentium™ 4 2.6 GHz HT
(with Hyper Threading Technology)
Memory: 1 GB RAM
HDD/FDD/CDROM: 250 GB, 1.44 FDD, CD-ROM

So what makes the more expensive one better? Is it really important to have the goodness, what difference does it make?
And what's this GHz HT about anyway? o.o

What is the easiest way to find the make and model of your motherboard? is there any software which can tell you info on the main components of your computer or is it something as simple to be identified in the bios or on startup?

Hello and thanks in advance! My household has one computer and my boyfriend and I would like to try playing World of Warcraft together. However, we have tried as many cheap solutions as possible (trying to figure out a virtual desktop to allow two players, two mice, etc... ).. and are faced with the fact that we HAVE to buy another PC in order to do this.

Our problem? We have about $400 to spend on an additional monitor (including a VERY cheap monitor.)

We do not have enough spare parts to make a computer, so that's pretty much out of the question. The spare parts that I do have are very old and I don't know if half of them work because of a lightning strike that caused me to buy this PC last year.

Ebay is a good idea, but every time we bid on anything... we get outbid at the last moment! Grrr :).

Does anyone have any ideas for making or purchasing a cheap computer just capable of doing the basics and playing WoW? Any help would be great!!

I have a dual boot PC, Windows XP lite on one partition, and SimplyMepis linux on the other. Today I had 4-6 power surges in a row that turned off my computer. I have it on a pro surge protector provided by my company so I'm fairly sure it wasn't damaged. Well when I went to boot XP lite up the damn thing wouldn't even recognize the keyboard or mouse. I then booted into simplymepis and both work fine (I'm on it right now). What could be the problem with XP and how can I fix it? Thank you! :)

How to retrieve data from a recovered partition?

I have a 160 GB HDD with following partitions.

Active Partition - 40 GB
Extended Partition
* Logical 1 - 20 GB - FAT32
* Logical 2 - 100 GB - FAT32

I accidentally tried to merge Logical 2 to 1 and killed the process before it completes.

Now, I no longer have access to Logical 2 drive. I recovered the Logical 2 partition using Partition Magic, but I don't know how to recover the files/folders.

When I logon to Windows XP, all I can see is Active & Logic 1 drives.

Any help highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mac users keep saying Windows Vista is an ENTIRE copy of Mac OS X and I would love to hear how the ENTIRE OS is a copy of mac.

As far as I'm concerned the Mac users are just jealous because they make up a small percentage of the computer market. How come if a new Mac OS comes out then no one has anything to say but if a new Windows OS comes out, then they are always looking for it's flaws.

I mean why does it even matter for mac users. Why are they worried about windows users and their OS if they don't even use windows???

But I'm curious, I would love to hear why Mac fans say ALL of Windows Vista is a Mac OS copy when I know for a fact that it's not.

I ordered an AMD Athlon 3400+ running at 2.2ghz. But I never had to apply thermal paste before, and I'm really not sure as to how much I should be putting on, would to much kill the chip? and would to little Kill the chip as well...I'm guessing about a layer as thin as a matchbook cover. am I supposed to let this stuff dry, or does it go together wet? I really don't know, and I build computers in my home, just never had to replace a cpu before this high of a temp to worry about. usually the others are around 500mhz. slot 1, or 733, 866 etc...please help

Was trying to fix an issue with my computer by reinstalling Windows. When starting the process, one of the messages I got was "Volume is dirty". Never saw this. What does it mean? Do I need to address it? How?

I am thinking of buying a refurbed Dell Vostro 400. Looks a pretty nifty machine. People are warning me that Dell PCs are notoriously hard to upgrade at a later date because of their build, and that I'd have to send the pc back to change components at a later date. Is this true? Has anyone else had this issue, or is it a myth? Cheers. K
