i played soldier front on ijji but every time i play ina game i always lag even tho i have a good computer. i dont have any other programs open i use disk defragment and reinstalled it. and on my friends computer it doesnt lag at all. can anyone tell me y my comp lags in games?

P.S i have 1 gig of ram ( just got it installed) Fios internet should i install new graphics?

i am trying to reinstall windows because my computer kept restarting on its ow accord and crashing. but when i'm half way through the installation process, it will turn its self off.not restart, its like n instant power loss. the power supply is fine, and so are the cables. anyone got any ideas.
i got the blue screen saying: PFN_LIST_CORRUPT. what does this mean?

This is an older machine, still running win98. When I power it off, the next time I start it, the settings are all back to default.
It won't power down, or go to screen saver, until I reset it manually.
Desktop icons , toolbars, font size, everything goes back to default. I am saving for a new computer, but I can't really afford one right now.
What could it be?

Can any one suggest me the free driver site link or any other solution?

I don't have the motherboard CD with me and video card is not on the motherboard inbuilt.

im buying a new pc but dont know whether to get a AMD or Intel processor. Can anyone tell me which would be better for gaming. Also i dont understand what the L2 Cache is because the AMD has 2x1m Cache but the Intel has a 4mb Cache, anyone know what that is :S ?

Hello....I'm very confused.I got vista home premium full vesion not an upgrade for my computer. I got a ati radeon 1050 256mb ddr grahics card,1gd ram,300gd hard drive,Pentium dual core 3,07 ghz, and everything else for my computer. But when it comes to downloading vista it gives me an error. Can someone help me cause i dont want to pay geeksquad.

I've been having problems with my Dell Dimension 2400 and currently, it won't boot. The Dell screen loads up, does not beep like it used to, and then goes to a blank screen with a flashing underscore. After about 2 minutes and 25 seconds, the screen says:

"We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this...."

Then it gives me several options to start windows (safe mode, normally, etc.). The last line says this:

Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice.
Seconds until WIndows starts: 30

It will count down to 29 and then freeze. Sometimes, it'll just freeze at 30.

Booting from CD does not work.

On one occasion, I got a "keyboard failure" message.

The contents of the hard drive can be read by my 2nd computer so I don't think that's the problem.

Is there anything else that could be the problem? I want to be sure before I spend the money on a new mobo.

I shut off my computer last night after playing World of Warcraft and turned it on this morning and it went to the Windows loading screen with the blue bar for loading and it just went on forever. It never ended up loading so I had to reset my computer and had to start it in safe mode.

I did a system restore and all it did was make it so now I can't even start it in safe mode. I press safe mode and it shows all these system 32 files loading and never ends up loading, so it just freezes.

I don't have my Windows XP CD because it didn't come with the computer 2 years ago.

Its a very good computer thats not close to being filled. (160GB hard drive)
(1 GB ram)
(2.9GHZ Processor)

Anyone know how to solve this?

hi, I accidently downloaded a winzip folder, i deleted the folder and then you know how you do the shortcuts and things like that? theres a winzip file under that. it says its 0 bytes and it does not reconize it. so i went under desktop settings and it doesn't have it. but under the shortcuts it does. I'm confused. i tried using virus scan and using the computer search for Winzip File. but it did not reconize it. My dad is gonna be mad if he finds out i download it. he will kick me off the computer for that. just so you know its 0 bytes and 0 on the hard-drive. pls help me ASAP!!!!!!!!

If one deletes all files from the hard drive of specific data, and deletes all cookies relating to the data (at least all that could be found), and uses the disk clean up program, can an individual still locate these files somewhere in the programing of the hard drive?

My computer has been acting weird so basically now i just want to start the computer off from scratch but when i try to start it over it says to use a partition. If i delete my C: partition then would it come back but just empty? or just delete it overall and it wont pop back up..

custom build... im very interested in overclocking a lot of this so i was wondering if my power source will be good enough for overclocking the processor and the ram and running two video
cards in sli (eventually) for now just one video card though. and

I know it runs all the time. But recently it kept running fast and loud. I opened the tower and discovered the thing to keep the fan onto the motherboard broke. Its a black plastic square thing and has these metal clips that clip onto it to hold the fan on. Well one thing broke off, and I think this is why the fan keeps coming on. Theres also thermal grease on it.

If I think it to the computer shop Monday, what should I tell them? I get nervous explaining things to people because I end up forgetting what to say lol.

My modem keeps on disconnecting and will then constantly try to re establish a connection but only remains "ready" for about 5-10 seconds and then reverts to "idle" mode before again trying to connect. Tiscali reckon there is no problem at their end.

I keep uninstalling and reinstalling the modem and sometimes this works for a week or so, sometimes for a couple of hours and other times not at all.

Is it possible for a modem to "wear out"? I know that sounds stupid but I've had it for two years and it's been brilliant. I have no new Hardware or Software, so there is no other reason for it to suddenly start playing up.

Any ideas or help will be very much appreciated.

Obviously for PC users. Is it Mac OS you dislike, or the machines?

Just wondering, not trying to fire up the whole Mac V. PC war, just wondering. My theory is you like what you learned on, but that doesn't have much to do with the actual machine, just the OS.

Hi, I plan on playing mostly simulators like sim city and FSX . I built this on www.cyberpowerpc.com
