The fact of the matter is this subject will always fire up PC Vs Mac community.
Again Mac OSX10.5 is completely different than Window's Vista.
They use completely different Programing Languages and therefor there is a complete difference in the architecture, there operation and the way they act and react.
The largest disparage is in the fact that they were designed for 2 completely different reasons.
Apple, and Mac OS was originally designed for Design work in the Motion Picture, Photo, industries.
As time went buy Apple users loved the way they acted and reacted to the software that was available at that time.
Now as time has progressed, more and more software has been developed for the MAC where in the past many of the PC dedicated soft wares were not available, such as in the Office and Gaming areas.
This is the main reason again for the 2 different camps.
Microsoft had the market cornered on the Office Software's and as time went buy more and more users started to learn programming and thus all of the different programs were developed for PC.
Mac lagged way behind, because there main client base was with design for Print Photo, and Film thus a much smaller following.
Now present day shows us again that the Apple developers have designed a computer that has the capability to run in either enviorment, PC, Windows Based Software, or OSX 10.4 or 10.5
Now the best of both worlds.
The information I have given just touches on the high spots of this subject, there is a ton of information available, and those of us that have used both and followed this ongoing issue have kept somewhat up on it.

The OS is okay, I like it, albeit unfamiliar. It's not what keeps me from using a Mac. It's the incompatibility... maybe that's not the right word. It's the fact that most of the world uses PCs. That there are more companies making them (Dell, HP, etc.) as opposed to just one. That the availability for
purchase and repair is much higher and more varied.
Basically, I don't like the idea of one company being responsible for all my computer's needs, making my type of computer, etc. There aren't many options if you want a Mac.
Another major turn-off is software. There's not much available for Mac.
My school has PCs almost exclusively. There are companies to pick and choose from. PCs are the majority. You can get add-ons from a different company than made the computer. You don't have to check the software carefully.
LONG STORY SHORT; it's not the OS, it's the machines and the fact it's all controlled by a single company, Apple.

no, because the whole point of macs are the different OS. If it was similar to windows then it would just be an overly priced pc.

Which one of the PC OSes I use? PCLinuxOS? Ubuntu? Or do you mean that other one... Windows Vista? Personally, I'm liking the Compiz Fusion Gnome desktop on my main Ubuntu box:

I don't need to "switch to" a Mac - I have one right here alongside all the other computers :)
And yes, I agree - you tend to stick to what you learnt on. Apart from I learnt on a TI994/a ;-)

i think of MAC OS is greater advantageous, one likes homestead windows merely becauses he's used to of its interface .. in case you're used to of MAC you will definately like it. in any case, i myself have accomplished a analyze at Graduate point and found out that Linux grew to become into greater advantageous in interface than homestead windows, subjects have been the scholars who don't understand homestead windows and Linux. so a ways as i will wager you're no longer a tech-savvy consumer, so viruses could desire to be a huge situation for you, i'll nevertheless advise to decide for MAC OS. this is safer too.

It would be hard for Apple to make an OS like Microsoft, they would have to stop work for about 4 years to wait for Microsoft to catch them so that they could copy Microsoft who have spent their whole life time copying Apple.
Macs run Windows so their is no lack of software or software compatibility issues.

I found the mac harder to use is why I kind of shyed away from it. I am about ready to buy the little one that just gets on the web. Nothing else. They say it moves faster without all the junk in it.
