Is it any different from a typical data dvd recording? or Do I have to do something speciall?
I've got a friend who's got a new mac and I want to give him some softwares that I've dowloaded from the net in a data dvd.
Advise me please!

Hopefully you are giving him Mac downloads. New Macs will read most data DVDs. Just burn him one and see what happens.

OS X installation files have a ".dmg" file extension. Windows ".exe" files do NOT run on OS X.

Otherwise, DVD data disks are usable on both OSs.
