If it's not working how do I get to it to see if it's plugged in?

Hi. You can take the side off and reseat the card. Only one screw holds the card in.

click on my computer, click on view system imformation,on top clikck on hardware tab, click on device manager.this will list all the devices on your computer.click the "+"sign next to the sound device list. this will open the sound devices on your pc.if there is a problem you will see a "?" mark in yellow.
double click on this and choode trouble shoot device,

you should be able to check that in dxdiag
start-run-dxdiag and check on the top for sound.
