I have saved files of 560mb on my PC desktop (of work) and it's now giving me a message that i have saved more than i should on my pc and that i should remove but when looking at my desktop i do not see it except for the icons.

Please help me find them as the message keeps poping up.

Thanx!

IF your work is TRULY saved on the desktop, then deleting the icon that you see will delete the file - that Icon is the file. However, if the work is saved elsewhere on your C Drive, deleting the icon will not help. To find out where the file is actually located, right-click on the icon on your desktop, and choose Properties.

If you have a tab called "Shortcut", click on it - if there is a "Find Target" button, press it. This will bring up the folder where your work is actually saved, and deleting it from there will delete the work. You can then delete the shortcut on your desktop.

If there is no Shortcut tab, then this is the actual file, and not a link to the file. You can then delete it off your desktop.

right click on the icon
goto Properties
this should tell you under either 'target' or 'location', where to find the file where this shortcut is linked to.
go through My Computer to find file and delete it
