Dont know where they are comming from tried looking but, 4 or 5 ants would just appear out of nowhere. they keep crawling over my keyboard and monitor once in a while.

My old PC has a SIS L4S5MG motherboard based on SIS 650 chipset. Manual says that it has a FSB of 266 MHz. Will it support a RAM of 533MHz? I mean to say will that RAM work? It does not matter if the ram works on 266 MHz. This is because I'm not getting 266 MHz RAM in the market.

I unplugged it and then turned it on and the power button had to be held in longer,but it started up. Is this a bad power button?

Has anyone installed DIMM modules from a vendor other than Apple in a Mac Pro? I'm looking to upgrade, but the Apple price seems to be 40% higher than comparable other manufacturers (except for the heat sink thingee). I already have 4GB installed of Apple RAM, want to double it. (I do alot of High-Def After effects work and 3D rendering) BTW I also run both XP and OSX - with most work being done in XP at this time.

i tried to install windows me (she was running 98) but ie kept popping up none stop and causing a fatal error, so i tried using the start up disk to start pc with cd rom support to see if that would help. now cd rom isnt working, i tried to do a system restore but it says nothing has changed

I have just installed windows xp service poack 2 to my computer, as a new install, and I keep receiving all sorts of stop error messages this consist of... 0x00000050, 0x0000000a, 0xcdcdcdd3, etc. I have had more than those, so I did what some of them said, and upgraded from a 4GB hardrive, I have just added a 128mb video card today, and I can't get videos to play on my computer in any other way than a jittery fashion. I need some help here in what direction I can go in to fix my computer (and I know buying a new one would be easier, but I want to save this one as I have just put this money into it).

So heres the story:
Using Gparter, I partitioned my 250 gig HD into 2 separate ones. the HD already had Windows OS on it, but i wanted to dual boot linux. So any way, after partitioning I forgot that I had to make a boot disk (for linux). I re-re-partitioned my HD back into a 250 gig HD, but it won't load up windows!!!! All that happens is that there is a black screen with a white cursor blinking on the upper left hand corner. When I go back into Gparter, it says that the data is there, but it just doesn't want to load. BTW i have an HP computer, and there IS a system restore option, BUT THAT DELETES ALL MY DATA, WHICH I DON'T WANT TO DO!

Please any one who can help, I am desperate!

It is a model W3507 and it's pretty new *just a few months old* and it works pretty good, except every ten minutes or so, it will squeak. Sounds like it's sneezing. I still have my warranty. Does anyone know what it could be, is it something that can be easily fixed or do I need to just forget about this one and get another one?

This has never happened before I am doing a reformat on an oldie, 40GB HD, 128MB ram, Dell. After running the boot disk and format C, and yes to format, the format process got up to 8 per cent then says Not Ready---Format terminated. Whats up with that? Did it again, this time it stayed at zero, then gave the same message. Fried hard drive?

My aunt needs me to reformat her hard drive but she doesn't have a recovery cd, she told me that a tech gave her directions once on how to reinstall windows directly from the hard drive. I know I've done this once on my own computer but for the life of me I cannot remember how I did it, any help will be appreciated.

I got ahold of a Windows 98 SE cd that's for Dell only. I have an HP computer. On the very first screen it says "this cd is for Dell computers only" and the program quits. How does it know that I don't have a Dell? Is there a way to trick it into thinking that it is a Dell?

Ok, i am building a Extreme Gaming Computer here...and i am looking for some help on what kind of Video Card i should get...i am not sure. Now i defentily want to stay with NVidida but i have heard that the New 8800 GTX is the way to go! but i have also heard that running 2 x 7800's is Equal or better than running the one single 8800 GTX! i broke my computer i used to game on, so my friend let me borrow an old laptop, which was really choppy... so i bought another one just to have for the moment... the game i play on thier is world of warcraft. the computer i bought has a pentium IV 3.0 processor, 1GB of RAM, 250 GB of Hard Disk Space, and a Intel Graphics Media Accelerato 950... the game plays just fine then the screen blinks black and comes back to the game... when i minimize the window, i get a message that says "your display driver was not responding and has recovered"

i dont understand why the game doesnt work if it has everything better than the laptop.

should i reinstall the game, please help
any suggestions...?
